A：千尋の記憶障害は実際に知られている記憶障害の症状で、短期記憶障害・前向性健忘症と呼ばれるものです。
人間の脳はPCと似ていてCPUに相当する部分(考える）、メモリに相当する部分（覚える）、HDDに相当する部分(思い出す）があります。
このうち短期記憶障害で壊れてるのはメモリからHDDにデータ(記憶）を書き込む部分です。
新しいことを学んでメモリに蓄えることはできますが、メモリのデータは13時間(実際はもっと短い）で消えてしまいます。
本来はそうなる前にHDDに記憶を書き込みますが、短期記憶障害者(千尋）は書き込みができずに消えてしまいます。
でもHDDは正常でそこから記憶を読み出す機能は残っていますから、過去の記憶はいくらでも思い出せます。
逆にHDDから読み出す機能が壊れてるのが長期記憶障害・逆向性健忘症です。
この場合は過去も思い出せないし新しいことをHDDに書き写せても結局読み出せないから何も思い出せません。
HDD自体が壊れてしまって過去の記憶は失うけど、新しい記憶に対しては正常なのがいわゆる記憶喪失です。
